Move/Shake

Move/Shake is a Youth Music funded programme building on our 10+ years of experience delivering and developing youth leadership activities in rural communities.

Working across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire in King’s Lynn, Poringland, Thetford; Lowestoft; Histon and Wisbech, you can expect to find our musicians in residence out and about, getting to know community members and exploring the local youth culture! They’ll be offering music-making workshops and participatory activities for young people, aged 0-25, whilst unearthing the gaps in local music provision.

Through this music-making participation and audience experience, young people will then be invited to form a Community Music Promoter group to host their own events – more details coming soon!

We’ll be working in partnership with various organisations to understand the current makeup of the local areas and to look at longer-term solutions towards the challenges that younger people are facing. Some of our partners include Cambridgeshire Music, College of West Anglia, Discover King’s Lynn, Drake Primary School, Framlingham Earl High School, King’s Lynn & West Norfolk Council, Norfolk County Council and Thetford LCEP.

You can meet our musicians in residence below, or keep your eyes peeled for our upcoming blog posts to learn more about them!
