We’re thrilled to introduce you to our latest project – Move/Shake, a Youth Music-funded programme building on our 10+ years of experience delivering and developing youth leadership activities in rural communities.
Over the next year and a half, we’ll be working across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire with different musicians, who will be out and about in these areas getting to know community members and exploring the local youth culture. They’ll be offering music-making workshops and participatory activities for young people aged 0-25, whilst unearthing the gaps in local music provision.
Through this music-making participation and audience experience, young people will then be invited to form a Community Music Promoter group to host their own events – more details coming soon!
Without further ado, meet our first ‘Musician in Residence’ – Lewis Wickwar!
Lewis is a Freelance Community Artist who will be working in Poringland and the surrounding area.
When asked, how would you describe your artistic practice, Lewis said…
“My own specialism is video – making videos which document and celebrate arts groups and projects, or creating abstract video art which often accompanies live experimental music. I love playing with creative technology and exploring the outer limits of sound, video and other creative technologies such as VR, AI and 3D scanning!”
