Walsingham Parish Hall
Walsingham
Walsingham Parish Hall also known as Oddfellows Hall, was opened in 1909, became a parish hall in the 1970s and now accommodates all sorts of village community events from meetings to talks to amateur theatricals. The hall has a stage with proscenium and curtains, newly renovated kitchen, disabled toilets/baby changing, and level access from the street and throughout the building apart from the stage area. The cinema equipment is installed: with ceiling mounted projector, powered screen, amp with dvd/blu ray, speakers, and wifi. Walsingham Picture Palace was set up at the Parish Hall as a village cinema back in 2009 so that we could screen Stephen Poliakoff's film 'Glorious 39' which was largely shot in Walsingham the previous year. Our community cinema has been going ever since, presenting films around once a month. We are one of the smallest cinema groups but always have a good time on cinema nights with refreshments and socialising from doors opening before the show.
