Mrs. Lowry and Son

Beloved British artist L.S. Lowry lived all his life with and caring for his over-bearing widowed mother Elizabeth, devoted, lonely, until her death in 1939.

He is exasperated by her mood swings, as bed-ridden and bitter, Elizabeth actively tries to dissuade her bachelor son from pursuing his artistic ambitions, whilst never failing to voice her opinion at what a disappointment he was to her.
