Last autumn, we launched a full programme of cultural events across venues in West Norfolk and Breckland. From September to November, audiences enjoyed a range of experiences including a live comedy show from Paul Kerensa about the history of radio at the BBC, a National Theatre Live cinema screening starring Imelda Staunton, and an Afro-jazz concert from award-winning band Ubunye.
These Afternoon Events bring high-quality cultural experiences to local communities, creating accessible opportunities for people to come together, enjoy the arts, and connect. We’ve loved seeing audiences join us for an afternoon out — often with tea, cake, and plenty of conversation!
What’s Next?
We’re delighted that the programme continues this January and February in Hunstanton with two exciting live to screen cinema events recorded in London’s West End and from Southbank’s National Theatre.
Screening in January…
Miss Saigon: 25th Anniversary Performance
First up in January is the extraordinary anniversary staging of the acclaimed production Miss Saigon. The epic love story tells the tragic tale of young bar girl Kim, orphaned by war, who falls in love with American GI Chris – but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. The special gala finale also features appearances by the original cast including Jonathan Pryce and Lea Salonga.

Then in February, the Olivier Award-winning play The Audience makes a highly anticipated return to cinemas. One of the most popular National Theatre Live productions in history, it stars Academy Award-winner Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II.
