A Welcome Song from Our Creative Social Groups

March 6th, 2026

Welcome to Creative Socials

Over the past couple of months our Creative Social groups have been working with musician Kimberley Moore to write a ‘welcome’ song together.

Participants from our six groups across the county – Attleborough, Dereham, Great Massingham, Hunstanton (Hunst’on), King’s Lynn and Thetford – have collaborated, each contributing a few verses to introduce their group.

Our groups learnt the Creative Social Song framework that Kimberley wrote, adapting it and adding lines to introduce their group, followed by a recording of their song. One theme that pops up again and again in the song is that anyone can join in – and that the cup of tea, cake and chat are all part of the fun too.

Listen to the song below, but don’t blame us if it gets stuck in your head for the rest of the day!

  • Welcome to Creative Socials

    Welcome to Hun’ston

    Welcome to Creative Socials

It’s good to have you in the room.

We’re here to make some music

We’re here to make some noise – Oi!

    You can sing along

If you want to, it’s your choice – Yeah!

  • Welcome to Creative Socials

    Welcome to Attleborough

    Welcome to Creative Socials

It’s good to have you in the room.

We’re here to make some music

We’re here to use our voice – Oi!

We’re here to have a cup of tea

And a biscuit of our choice!

  • Welcome to Creative Socials

    Welcome to King’s Lynn

    Welcome to Creative Socials

Come along and have a sing

    In Lynn

    In Lynn

    In Lynn…

We’re here to make some music

We’re here to use our voice

Doesn’t matter what it sounds like

    Join in, it’s your choice!

  • Welcome to Creative Socials

    Welcome to Thetford

    Welcome to Creative Socials

It’s good to have you in the room.

We’re here to make some music

We’re to use our voice – La!

    No experience needed

    Join in it’s your choice!

  • Welcome to Creative Socials

    Welcome to Dereham town

    Welcome to Creative Socials

It’s good to have you all around.

We’re here to make some music

We’re here to use our voice – La!

After you’ve had your tea and cake

    Join in, it’s your choice!

  • Welcome to Creative Socials

    Welcome to Great Massingham

Some of us are from other places

It’s nice to have you in our clan.

    Bagthorpe, Stiffkey, Houghton

    East and West Rudham

We’re here to be with all our friends

So we can all have fun

And tea, and coffee, and cake!

Creative Socials are monthly creative workshops for people aged 50+, all led by professional artists. Activities change month-to-month and range from dancing and music, to arts, crafts and creative writing. The sessions are welcoming and inclusive, for anyone who wants to try something new, meet people and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake (of course!).

What’s Next?

In April and May, Glass House Dance will be joining us for friendly, welcoming dance workshops. Come dance, chat, and share your favourite dance floor moments — the songs you loved, the places you danced, and the people you shared them with.

Together, we’ll create a Dancing Map of Norfolk, built from the stories of local communities. No experience needed — just curiosity, conversations, and a love of moving (or listening).
