Down-and-out producer Max Bialystock, once the toast of Broadway, has veered from great success to the depths of near failure ekeing out a hand-to-mouth existence.
With the help of his new accountant Leo, he devises a plan to make money by producing a sure-fire flop and the duo puts together the worst play possible - 'Springtime for Hitler'.
