Delivering Creative Health

It’s a fact — there’s solid evidence that the arts are good for your health.

At Creative Arts East, we’ve spent years working with academics, healthcare professionals, GPs, dementia nurses, and other specialists to understand and measure the impact of our Arts for Health programmes. We’ve used validated wellbeing scales and robust evaluation methods to gather real, meaningful data that proves what we’ve long known and believed: engaging in creative activities can significantly improve your health and wellbeing.

“The Creative Arts East team has proven conclusively that even with a progressive illness such as dementias, high-quality and inclusive participatory creative activities can lead to significant increases in wellbeing and feelings of connection, and a reduction in feelings of loneliness.”

— Ruth Hollis, CEO of Spirit of 2012, on our award-winning programme Our Day Out (2016-2022)
