Cultural opportunities for rural communities

Through our Live and Screen membership schemes, Creative Arts East works with a brilliant network of local volunteers and other community representatives to bring professional live performances and cinema events to rural communities across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and beyond!

We help community groups turn everyday spaces, like village halls, pubs, churches, and libraries, into vibrant cultural venues. Whether it’s an outstanding live performance or a community screening of the latest blockbuster, our members make it happen with our help.

Our team curates a dynamic, regularly updated programme of high-quality cultural opportunities for promoters, including theatre, music, dance, spoken word, and film. We provide practical support to help make events successful, offering training, marketing and administrative assistance, access to projection and sound equipment, and financial subsidies to keep costs low and risks minimal.

Within our network, over 300 voluntary Community Promoters play a key role in selecting and hosting amazing arts events that bring people together to watch and enjoy. Their contribution opens doors to culture in communities and strengthens local connections through shared creative experiences.
