Young Volunteers
Creative Arts East encourages young people to get involved in community life and along the way learn new skills and build their confidence. It provides various ways of doing this :
Blueprint is a project that allows a group of young people (between 16 and 25 years old) to come together and develop a new project that will benefit the community. Those who haven't been involved in volunteering are particularly welcome and travel and other access costs will be re-imbursed. In 2008 the Blueprint group researched and made a film about buskers in Norwich to raise awareness and greater understanding.
We are currently recruiting the 2010 Blueprint group, so if you would like to be involved in developing and running the First EVER Wymondham Film Festival please contact us. There will be many different ways to get involved so to see the lastest opportunities please visit the Blueprint page.
Youth Promoting Groups are groups of young people who organise performances by professional theatre and music companies as part of Village Stage. Supported by an adult mentor and with special training from Creative Arts East staff they organise all aspects of event management. To get further information please contact us.
Team East provides courses to help people move into work or volunteering through creative and sports activities, and is open to anyone over 16 years who is unemployed or economically inactive. An entry level Warm Up course provides taster activities and an enjoyable way to boost confidence and learn new skills. At Bronze level you can decide whether to take part in sports or creative activities, work towards an accredited qualification and benefit from one-to-one mentoring sessions. From there you move on to a Silver level qualification or we will help find a volunteering placement or job interview. This project will begin in April 2009 and run until 2012. Please contact us to find out more.
