Bright Sparks!
|
The scheme enables groups of young people between the ages of 13 and 26 to choose and promote a professional performance in their community venue. This could be part of a drama group, youth club, village hall or school.
Groups work with an adult team leader who plays an essential part in overseeing the training and promoting processes, taking ultimate responsibility for the health, safety and finances of their promotion. The success of the scheme relies on the fact that the group members take responsibility for promoting the show.
Our Creative Arts East representative delivers a programme of seminars covering all aspects of promoting a show and event management:
- Box Office - Administration, budget, staffing
- Marketing - Target audience, distribution, press
- Stage Management - Looking after the company, health and safety, the venue, check lists
- Front of House - Looking after the audience, health and safety.
Seminars can be held before, during or after school. Each session lasts approximately 1.5 hours and has an accompanying worksheet.
The
Bright Sparks scheme is currently in operation at North Walsham High School, City College, Norwich and in South Norfolk
