Memories and Moving Pictures
An intergeneration project for Wymondham supported by The Baring Foundation
Between May and July 2012 members of the Wymondham community, including residents from Robert Kett Court Housing with Care Scheme, pupils from Robert Kett Junior School and students from Wymondham High School, worked together to create a new film documenting the memories of cinema-going by some of the older community members and retelling their memories through short animations.
Creative Arts East worked with filmmakers Tim Edwards and Fiona Muller at UniQPictures and in partnership with NORSE Care and CinemaPlus to make the project a reality!
Karen Knight, Managing Director of Norse Care, said: "We're thrilled that tenants at Robert Kett Court have had the chance to be involved in such a lovely project. There have been so many great elements and benefits associated with it, including improving communication and understanding between different generations and giving everyone involved the chance to learn new skills and work with new technologies. Projects like this really can help to change attitudes about older people and we're really pleased to support it."
Many thanks to our funders The Baring Foundation, with additional support from NORSE Care and the Wymondham Lions
