'Rubber Ring' is laugh-out-loud coming of age comedy about a Norfolk teenager's struggle with sexual and regional identity. In 2016 it opened to rave reviews at Pleasance Islington and transferred to The Tristan Bates Theatre in London's West End prior to a national tour. 'Rubber Ring' won Pulse Festival's Suitcase Prize 2017.

James McDermott is a Norfolk based writer performer. He trained at UEA where he graduated with an MA (Distinction) in Scriptwriting. His plays include Ordinary Boys (Royal Court; Playlist), Man Hug (Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds; Winner of Anglian Voices Playwriting Competition 2017), Bro's (HighTide Festival 2016) and Beached (Latitude 2015).


Rubber Ring is also performing at Ovington Village Hall and Sheringham Little Theatre
