About Creative Arts East
Creative Arts East believes that good art is a good thing - that it can help people feel better about themselves, act as a catalyst for change at many levels, stimulate insights, empathy and greater understanding, provide a focus for communal co-operation and community celebration.
We believe that everyone should be able to enrich their lives by having access to good art.
Creative Arts East's overall aim, therefore, is to engage people and communities that face barriers to participation, for whatever reason, in exciting and inspiring arts activities.
We do this through our regular activities - Village Stage, a rural touring scheme for professional live arts events, and Village Screen, a community cinema scheme for local groups. We also organise projects that involve people in creative learning or that improve health and well-being.
Creative Arts East new initiative Home Grown wants to nurture, support and inspire community arts events across Suffolk, and will do this by offering a range of services and opportunities tailored to the needs of individual groups and the communities they serve.
Creative Arts East is based in Wymondham in South Norfolk and is supported by the Local Authorities to work across the whole of Norfolk and the Forest Heath and Mid-Suffolk areas of Suffolk. Project work takes place in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Creative Arts East is a Company Limited by Guarantee (No. 2960157) and a registered charity (No. 1040321). VAT No. 740 896995
